I hate Buffy...

Call me odd, call me strange but I f*ckin' hate Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I don't know if I can think of a series (with the exception of Angel of course) that I have had any less motivation to watch. What is it on now? Series 8? How many frigging vampires are there? If there are that many and they are still going strong I'd be thinking of a new career. Buffy the Hairdresser anyone?

Now I realise I 'll probably catch some flack for this opinion but I'm sorry - it's just not a very good program. All the boys like it 'cos it's got pretty ladies in it, and I'm sure the opposite applies to you girls as well with David Boringanus (or whatever). Some of you may like the "empowered woman" aspect of it but I myself find it very hard to enjoy such a repetitive, exploitative series.

The original film is superb. It has comedy, adventure and best of all - Rutger Hauer (hoorah!). I suppose it stems from my hatred of the whole profit-mongering thing. Take a film that people like (The Crow - everybody likes The Crow) and then make some second-rate chode-master series from it (The Crow - Stairway to Heaving). It's wrong. Can't they see that? Perhaps they should ask the fans whether we want our favourite films or books made into trash for the lowest common denominator.

Oh well, if you like it, my apologies. I'll start railing about bloody pop music next.
